VAT (Value Added Tax) is used in all European countries and is much like Sales Tax, GST or any other form of state or local tax applied by most countries throughout the world.
The prices in the shopping cart of this web site are exclusive of the Italian VAT of 21%. The following is a guide as to when VAT is applied or not applied.
The Rule is: Client: Private person in EU. Recipient: Private person in the EU. VAT of 21% will be added to the order.
NB: Orders being shipped from one EU country to another EU country, and which already include the Italian VAT of 21%, are not subject to any additional VAT, duty or other tax charges in the country of destination.

If you are buying online simply follow the steps in the e-commerce section of this site. As is normal with most shopping carts, the e-commerce section of this site will initially process your online purchase without VAT. Depending on which country the order is to be shipped to, and in accordance with what has been stated in the VAT section of this site, the Italian VAT of 20% may or may not then be added to your purchase before finalising the payment part of it.

Merchandise Return Policy You may return items purchased within 10 days of delivery for exchange or for a full refund. We will pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error. You will need to pay the shipping costs if the return is not the result of our error. It is most important that you notify us before you commence any return procedure so that we can assist you in doing so correctly.

The dialling code or prefix for Italy is 39. The dialling code or prefix for Venice is 041. The 0 in front of the 41 must be used for all calls: local, national and international.

With very few exceptions, every item that we ship is always double packed.
We entrust almost all our shipments to the carrier DHL: www.dhl.com - (for some locations we also use Federal Express). Intercontinental shipments are sent using DHL’s World Parcel Express service which usually has a delivery time of 3-5 working days. European shipments are sent using DHL’s Road Express services which usually have a delivery time of 4-6 working days. Where deemed necessary by ourselves we also use the World Parcel Express service for some of the European deliveries. NB: The delivery time indicated is the time taken by the actual carrier to effect delivery once the merchandise has been given to them. The overall delivery time of an order is usually 7-10 days but can stretch to 2-3 weeks where merchandise is not available for immediate despatch. Where items actually need to be made for an order the delivery time can be significantly longer.
All our shipments going to countries not forming part of the EU are sent on a DDU (Delivered, Duty Unpaid)* basis. This means the shipping cost we ask of you covers the packing, shipping door to door, handling and insurance. It is our responsibility to deliver the merchandise to you, intact, to the address you give us. The only costs that are not included in a shipping calculation are Duty, GST or other taxes of a similar nature that your country may ask of you.
Shipments to EU countries are not subject any importation costs.
